The youngest even mentioned it in a school assignment titled '' things that I like''. They have not yet seen the films of Buster and Roscoe, but as soon as we finish watching their films alone we will see their first works. We are excited with the idea of seeing him laugh, cry or even in girl clothes.

I hope the wording is correct, English is not my natural language. (shouldn't every day be Buster Keaton Day?) I've been wanting to find time to look for that maid scene in Rough House. Hard to believe I'd miss a kiss! Yep. I'd heard that about Keaton taking the tumble out of the boat. It pretty much had to happen :) Not surprised he was a Cop as well. Love the way old movies came together! Just for the record-- Buster is one of the Cops, rumor has it that is him in drag flying out of the boat ride, and he does quickly kiss the maid in Rough House. Love Fatty's scene in the women's dressing room (nice document of ladies' fashions too) and BK's back flip! I was the only one in high school upset the film teacher skipped showing us Buster's The General in favour of going over Chaplin. In all fairness to Roscoe, I think his work is also terrific at the beginning when he is being the butcher. As in THE COOK, the accumulation of bits of business create a marvelous character and are extremely enjoyable. I accompanied this film last week at Le Giornate del Cinema Muto in Pordenone. Full house (936) plus ushers and the ever-present firemen (who cost more than any other aspect of the festival). I find few men sexy, but Buster exudes it in a natural, unforced way, with those eyes and his flopping hair and his made by Michaelangelo face. I'm highly compatible with him according to astrotheme as a surrealist artist myself, and unusual looking and acting, out of time, like a 1920s actress struggling in 2017s turgid nothingness. I'm a ...Hi, I just found your blog and love it. I'm a film student, just started a few months ago, and they "forced" me to watch a few Chaplin and Keaton films. Chaplin was fun. Keaton changed my life. They make me read a lot of texts about philosophy and film and what not, and I think what strikes me about *his* films (which I may do my final essay for this year about) is that, unlike in most classical films, he doesn't seem to inhabit a world that's built around him to drive him as a character. His worlds are chaotic, violent, and he usually starts his films as an insignificant spec in the hugeness of them, yet he marches on and makes the most of it. It's almost existentialist, without being cynical. It fills me with ... joy, of course, but also a will to go on and power through it all. He was awesome in every sense of the word. Just as an aside, now that I stopped drooling and hyperbolic-ing, I'm writing from Argentina so, referencing another recent post of yours, I don't know how many readers you have, but since Buster is not only timeless but also universal (even if he couldn't be more American) I'm glad you're still doing this.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13919487089334175267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7111613984912051102.post-70666385660046731132017-06-03T12:25:59.644-07:002017-06-03T12:25:59.644-07:00Just watched this one (on youtube) for the first t...Just watched this one (on youtube) for the first time a few days ago.
